Journey of a Recycled Cell Phone: Recycling

Recycling

Components are sorted into circuit boards, metal, glass, plastic and batteries.
Any data on the phone is destroyed.
Circuit boards are separated into gold, silver, copper and other metals for use in the manufacturing of new electronics.
Recycling old mobile phones help save energy, reduce landfill and Co2 emissions, and conserve raw materials.

Refurbished

Any data on the phone is erased and phones are returned to good working order so they can be reused, extending the life of the phone.  Refurbished cell phones help avoid both the environmental footprint of its production and its destruction.
